About Me

What is spin0 – and who is it?

I've always been small and not particularly athletic, so my scientist friends joked that I was like an elementary particle of spin 0 – and the nickname 'spin0' stuck. I've carried it as my digital identity for over 30 years.

Identity & Privacy

I don't disclose my full name online. Using 'spin0' started as a way to maintain privacy and protect against identity theft. Today, it also helps reduce the risk of impersonation in an era of deepfakes.

  • I currently maintain only two platforms under this digital identity:
    • This portfolio – the central hub of my personal work
    • GitHub - my technical contributions and projects
  • Only the platforms linked on this site represent me. If you see my handle or logo elsewhere, those accounts are not mine.
  • For recruiters and hiring managers, full identity verification is available through direct, secure communication.

My Personal Brand

In the mid-1990s, I designed my own logo from scratch using Microsoft Word's drawing tools – a playful nod to particle physics: a tiny figure made from up and anti-down quark symbols that resemble large glasses with a subtle smile. In 2025, I recreated it as a clean vector image with the help of an AI tool, preserving the original spirit while modernizing the design.

This logo is part of my long‑standing digital identity. Any use of it outside the platforms listed on this site is not associated with me.

My Professional Background

My background spans scientific programming, physical systems, telecommunications, mobile technologies, and modern web development – sometimes as a developer, sometimes as a QA tester. Across all these roles, the common thread has been building clear, reliable tools that help people work with complex systems.

How I work

On personal projects:

My personal projects usually start with a question or curiosity. They grow through experiments, small prototypes, and gradual refinement. I enjoy exploring ideas at my own pace and letting the problem shape the solution.

With a team:

In my professional work, I focus on alignment and clear communication. I adapt to the team’s practices and priorities, and bring my diverse experience and analytical mindset to the work.
